Due to the high demand for our private tours, we recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance. If you have a range of dates available we will provide you with the first available date within that range. For both summer and winter months we recommend booking at least 3 weeks in advance to ensure availability.

 

We require a non-refundable 20% deposit to secure your requested date against other reservation requests for the same date. The tour balance is due on the actual tour date via check, cash, or any major credit card. Once your deposit is made, you will receive your first invoice reflecting your deposit, along with supplemental tour information such as meeting time and location. You will also be provided with a list of items you will want to bring along for your exploration of Kīlauea volcano.

 

Our custom private tours are conducted rain or shine due to the variable weather conditions on the volcano - the summit area sits at an elevation of close to 4000ft (1200m) and conditions are much cooler there then near sea level. We always recommend that our guests stay in the Volcano Village area, so if you need recommendations for lodging please just let us know and we will be happy to help out! For our guests staying in the Kona and Kohala areas, plan on a transit time of 2-hrs each way to the volcano area depending on which route you take across the island.
