"YOU HAVE TO GET LOST BEFORE YOU CAN BE FOUND."
HONORED RECIPIENT OF THE 2014 'ECOTOUR GUIDE OF THE YEAR' AWARD!
Kīlauea EcoGuides is a custom tour operation based at the summit of the volcano itself, making Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park our backyard and living laboratory. We are not a transportation company, we are a team of professional guides with an extensive knowledge base specific to the volcano. No waterfalls. No coffee or mac nut farms. No gift shops. We focus on the active volcanoes of the island with an in depth look at the science and the culture of the area. We are changing the way guests experience the worlds most active volcano!
Our professional guides have strong academic backgrounds in subjects discussed on tour, as well as hundreds of hours in the field on Kīlauea. Our guides are also certified annually by Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park and possess special use permits to legally take guests to hidden areas that most tour companies do not access. This deep experience, combined with extensive geographic knowledge of the park from summit to sea, allows our guides to take you to areas of the volcano that few get to see while visiting the island of Hawai'i.
Our staff is also involved in the local community with several conservation projects, including assisting National Park specialists with invasive species removal and prevention. Our education based private tours get you out of the big buses and vans and into the field where you can really experience how special Kīlauea is!
Due to the nature of the gradual slopes of the shield volcanoes here in Hawaii, our tours inside the National park offer moderate hikes and walks. There is no major elevation gain or loss during our private tours of the National Park.
We strive for excellence in customer service from your initial contact all the way up to the end of the tour and even beyond - we offer family friendly tours, photography based tours, and specialize in small to medium groups. You have our guarantee that this is an experience that you and your loved ones will never forget!
